HANSHI JERRY MERCADO - 9th DAN
Hanshi Mercado, founder of the Kempo Moo Duk Kwan System and pioneer of Kempo Tai-Jitsu, has been studying the martial arts for over 50 years and continues to actively train today. Listed are his accomplishments and biography so you may understand the training and dedication he has put into his career.
1959-1969: Earned rank from Green Belt to Black Belt in various systems including:
Aiki Jiu-Jitsu (Master John Campbell)
American Jiu-Jitsu (Master Hector Lopez)
Tae Kwon Do (Tiger Kim)
Jiu-Jitsu/Aiki-Jujutsu {Dai Nan Wan Ryu} (Master Richard Lazarus)
Nihon Jujutsu (Master Howie Tague)
1970-1984: Trained in Kempo Tae Kwon Do and Kempo Tai-Jitsu with Master Ed Gross, Sr. where he earned the rank of 3rd Dan in both systems, respectively. During this period of time he also trained with Master Angelo Wing
1984: Trained with Hanshi Adolfo Ennever and earned the rank of 5th Dan in the art of Shotokan. Also in this year, trained with Master Buddy Hahn in the art of Jiu-Jitsu earning a 3rd Dan
1985: Was introduced to Professor Ronald Duncan who is the founder of American Ninjitsu and The "Way of the Wind System." Received 3rd Level Koga-Jyu-Jitsu Ninjutsu (Shinobi Arts), 5th Dan
Godan and 6th Dan Rokudan in Karate-Do Kobujitsu (Weaponry) with
Professor Duncan
1990: Grandmaster Vincent Cruz, Professor Ronald Duncan, and Hanshi Adolfo Ennever participated in Hanshi Mercado's Shihanato Ceremony
2000-2002: Traveled to train under Master Michael DiPasquale Jr. at his Dojo in NJ
2005: Earned the rank of 8th Dan through the A.F.M.A (American Federation of Martial Arts) by Hanshi Adolfo Ennever
2007: Received 9th Dan in Kempo Tai-Jitsu and title of Hanshi at the UMAC Holiday Celebration and Promotion Dinner, witnessed by Grandmaster Sugar Crosson
